Summer Wine Dinner featuring Prosecco Rosé
/To celebrate the launch of our Prosecco Rosé, we’ve got an easy to cook and fun to eat summer dinner menu that pairs perfectly with a bottle (or two) of Luna Nuda Prosecco Rosé!
Luna Nuda’s effervescent Prosecco Rosé has delicate floral aromas that give way to hints of golden apple and subtly sweet berry flavors. Luxurious bubbles create a refreshing finish on the palate with inviting fruit flavors that pair well with a variety of foods or can be enjoyed on its own.
Appetizer
Bacon Wrapped Dates
Now, we’re a fan of a good cheese plate (and have cheese pairings for each of our wines here), especially in the summer. But sometimes, you want an easy to pop in your mouth appetizer, complete with tooth picks! And especially when you’re not using the oven for the rest of the meal (and dining al fresco) this is an easy way to elevate your appetizer game!
This recipe from Pinch of Yum is easy to follow, and while there aren’t make ahead instructions, if you assemble earlier in the day you can refridgerate and bake a few hours later.
Why the pairing works: Luna Nuda Prosecco Rosé’s subtle berry flavor complements the deeper sweetness of the dates and the savory flavors of the goat cheese and bacon. Plus, sipping bubbles will clear your palate between bites, so you can enjoy richer foods without feeling weighed down!
Main Course
Grilled Chicken with Lemon and Thyme
This recipe is perfect for entertaining in the summer months, with easy to prep ingredients and flexible serving time. If you’ve got a partner or friend who’s dubbed themselves the grill master, you can divide and conquer this dish, or prep the marinade in advance and tackle it all on your own!
Bon Appetit’s recipe is easy to modify (or divide) if you’ve got olive averse guests, and combines the best of summer. Serve with a simple arugula salad or throw some cauliflower on the grill for some added veggies
Why the pairing works: Savory Chicken is the perfect pairing for Prosecco Rosé, since the wine’s subtle sweetness balances the saltiness of the meat and olives. Grilling lemon also creates caramelized flavors that mellow out the acidity and allow the wine to shine!
Dessert
“Death by Chocolate Ice Cream”
You can’t forget dessert (if you saved room!) and what better dessert in the hot summer months than homemade ice cream (we won’t judge if you grab some at the store though)! Handle the Heat’s recipe packs a chocolate punch that is perfect for homemade ice cream.
If you’re unsure whether or not your guests will go for dessert (or what they’d like), ice cream is a perfect choice for dinner party desesrt. It’s easy to store if people are full, and it’s customizable if you put out a few toppings!
Why the pairing works: We’re back to those bubbles - sips of Prosecco Rosé between bites of rich, creamy chocolate ice cream will cleanse the palate and make every bite taste like the first!
